Andes, designed by Daniel Hernández, is a display typeface that has neo-humanist characteristics. Its different terminals, among other elements, give it a look of mixed typography. It comprises 8 variants, ranging from Thin to Black, each of the same x-height. This typeface contains additional italic glyphs (a, y, z, g) that help to emphasise text or words.
Andes is based on the design of Merced and both of them share several features.
This type is well-suited for use in retail, magazines, logotypes, books, etc.

Daniel Hernández S. was born in 1983 in Santiago de
Chile. Graphic Designer. Design Graduate of Universidad Mayor in 2006, and with a Diploma Course in Typography from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in 2007. In 2006 while being a university student
he receives the TpG prize from the Argentina Tipógrafica magazine for his Stgotic screen font. He has exposed and presented his work in different typographic Biennials and exhibitions. He has worked as a teacher in many universities and institutes in Chile. He is a specialist in the design of display fonts. In 2010 he begins to commercialize his fonts through the Fundición Argentina Sudtipos. At this moment he lives in Buenos Aires and is a partner of Latinotype, from where he distributes his fonts. Also, he is a member of the AtypI (Association Typographique Internationale).
A unique customised version of Rita (Rita Special) was developed to play a key role as the typographic identity of the Worldskills event. The four day event was a huge success attracting over 200,000 visitors with the chief aim to raise awareness of the importance of vocational training.

Sánchez is the Latinotype’s first display type family. It is a serif typeface belonging to the
classification slab serif, or Egyptian, that bears a strong resemblance to the iconic Rockwell, but
with rounded edges— offering contrast and balance to the square structure. Sánchez comprises 12
variants, ranging from extra light to black, each of the same x-height. Regular and italic variants are
